BarCamp Chennai

The two day session of the inaugural edition of BarCamp Chennai came to an end today. This highly anticipated even got off to a good start, although there were minor hiccups like the wireless connectivity problem that was not available for some folks who wanted to do live blogging. Day one started off with an introduction by Kiruba ,one of India's best bloggers. There was a small speech by Amit, the man responsible for Barcamp Delhi and he gave anecdotes on how the term barcamp came into being. There were presentations by Arjun Ram, Vinu , Balaji and Amit Aggarwal, one of India's very few professional bloggers . The event was held at the Ramanujam Centre for Advanced Computing at Anna University and went on from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm.

There were also presentations by Vijay Anand, an start-up company owner from Canada, Ganesh of rupya.com and others.

Arjun had an Ipod Shffle on raffle for those who wrote the best reviews about his presentation on his site. Wonder who the lucky winner is!!

Day one ended with a get together at a beach resort on ECR, booze included, yipee.

Day two started out with presentations by Prathul Prabhakar, live conferencing seesions by Sujatha and Sreeram of podbazaar.com, from California and other folks too. Overall it was a good learning experience. Technologies were discussed, people spoke about their dreams, networked with each other and had fun.

Here's to Kiruba and the other organisers for conducting this event successfuly.

See you next time folks!!!
